Our Stark Dining Table is an elegant mix of rich, reclaimed lumber and clean, modern lines. While the design is simple, the color is incredibly deep and complex, which gives the Stark table the ability to be a focal piece in a wide range of home styles.
When the first Stark Table was complete, it immediately had a different feel than our others and we knew we needed to capture it before it made it to its new home. A gut feeling led us to Fort Stark at the mouth of the Piscataqua River in New Castle, NH, which is, of course, where it takes its name from. After carrying the table all over the fort for a couple of hours, it was finally delivered to its new home. The only problem was that we had no idea how the Stark Table had gotten its color. The Stark Table had been finished just like other tables we had done, but was drastically different and we had no reliable way of recreating the look. All we knew was that we had to figure out a way to have that beautiful finish again. Left with just the photos we had taken, we spent months experimenting before finally succeeding in creating a process that makes a Stark Table look like a Stark Table, every time. Our Alpine Soil color is more of a finishing process than a finish, but you can now get the Stark look in other designs, from side tables to vanities and more!
